​Henrik Ibsen’s play, A Doll’s House stunned critics when it was produced in 1879. The play tells of Nora Helmer’s struggle to exist in a marriage she finds stifling. At the end of the play, in one of the most famous stage exits in history, she walks out the door to make her way in a world with no connection to her past.
